In this video, I was investigating Amir's Celebrity News & Gossip site, VeryCeleb.com. It's already nicely optimised but there were a few opportunities for growth...
Here's a breakdown of what I found! 🤓
Technical SEO Improvements:
✔️ Main KW not found on homepage in H1 / H2 / content
✔️ No meta description for homepage
✔️ Page size - decrease to <200KB
On page:
✔️ Internally link from within the content of each article to other related posts with similar target KW's and relevant anchor text
✔️ Use tools such as Surfer SEO to improve 'how to' articles to benchmark against articles on page 1 to earn links
Off page:
✔️ Build relevant directory and citation links for added trust
✔️
Earn links naturally from sites who have a close linking proximity to seed sites such as bbc.
UX:
✔️ Allow full dropdown on the menu for easy navigation
✔️ Pre-load images on homepage articles
